Frequently Asked Questions

What are impact indicators?
Impact Indicators are devices that alert a participant or bystander when someone has been hit too hard during their activity. Tozuda’s Impact Indicator can attach to any type of helmet with only double-sided tape.
What are impact indicators designed to do?
Impact Indicators are NOT designed to detect or prevent concussions. Impact Indicators are designed to detect or react to linear and rotational accelerations that the head may undergo. When a dangerous threshold has been reached, users and/or bystanders are alerted through the indication of the Impact Indicator when it turns colors from clear to red.
What makes Tozuda different from other impact indicators?
While there are other impact indicators on the market, Tozuda beats them all with its patented mechanical technology that allows for no electronics and an instantaneous indication, while being user-friendly and affordable.
What are the symptoms of a concussion?
The Tozuda Impact Indicator is by no means a diagnostic device. If you notice ANY of the following symptoms in a participant, despite whether or not their Tozuda Indicator activates, they should immediately seek medical attention.

What do I do if I think my child has sustained a concussion?
If a concussion is suspected, stop all activity as soon as possible and bring them to a medical professional to be evaluated. Follow their return to activity instructions accordingly.
What do I do if my child is diagnosed with a concussion?
After being diagnosed with a concussion, follow your doctor’s return to activity protocol to reduce the likelihood of Second Impact Syndrome (SIS) that stems form hurting the brain again while the brain is trying to recover from the first impact. Click here for more information on SIS. To help recovery, reduce screen time and limit exposure to bright lights and loud sounds for a while. Make sure to contact your child’s school to make them aware of the issue, and to allow them to help your child to the fullest extent possible.
