          Why Tozuda's Head Impact Indicator Was a Race Changer

          Due to the high level of head injury risk within motorsports, the Sprintcar Control Council of Australia (SCCA) has been dropped by multiple insurance carriers. The SCCA needed a way to show insurance carriers that they were doing everything they could to minimize head injury risk. Tozuda conducted a season long study where over the course of 47 race events, our indicator activated 4 times, 3 of which led to a head injury diagnosis.

          WHAT ARE IMPACT INDICATORS? WHAT ARE THEY DESIGNED TO DO?

          Impact Indicators are devices that detect a wide range of impacts, and Tozuda’s Impact Indicators do so completely without electronics. Tozuda’s Impact Indicators are able to be set at different thresholds; whether for head injury awareness, helmet damage indication, or another custom setpoint as needed. We have the ability to tailor activations between 70 and 600 G’s (G Force, a measure of acceleration.) 


          Impact Indicators are NOT designed to detect or prevent concussions. Impact Indicators are designed to detect or react to linear and rotational accelerations that the head may undergo. When a dangerous threshold has been reached, users and/or bystanders are alerted through the indication of the Impact Indicator when it turns colors from clear to red. 


          If there is any indication that a head injury has occurred, seek medical attention as soon as possible. Only a licensed medical professional can legally and properly diagnose a concussion.

          WHAT MAKES TOZUDA DIFFERENT FROM OTHER IMPACT INDICATORS?

          While there are other impact indicators on the market, Tozuda beats them all with its patented mechanical technology that allows for no electronics and an instantaneous indication, while being user-friendly and affordable.

          WHAT IS THE LEAD TIME?

          Lead times can vary at time of purchase, depend on the SKU, and are subject to change. Currently, the typical turnaround time for 10,000 unit orders is 90 days. 

          ARE IMPACT INDICATORS ONE TIME USE OR REUSABLE?

          Once the indicator activates, it is no longer usable, it has to be replaced.

          WHAT IS AN "ACTIVATION" OR "TRIGGER"?

          Before activation, the spring will be in a straight alignment, sitting perfectly horizontally across the middle chamber. The indicator is activated if there is any displacement within the ball-and-spring system.


          When activated the middle chamber will begin to fill with red color.

          DOES TOZUDA PROVIDE ANY SALES TRAINING?

          Yes, Tozuda provides sales training to any partner who sells Tozuda Impact Indicators. We want to arm you with the knowledge and know-how to sell our Indicators in the best way possible, and make it easier on you! 

          HOW DOES TOZUDA FIT INTO MY BUSINESS?

          Tozuda works with our partners to figure out how we can be most beneficial to each other. We will work with you to make it as easy as possible to carry and sell Tozuda Impact Indicators. Our Indicators are affordable, have good margins, and have a small footprint, making it easy to add Tozuda to your SKUs.
